Junior Courtney Walker advanced to Friday's semis in the 400-meter dash after performing a career-best time on the opening day of the NCAA East Preliminary Round.

Kree Clark, Svenja Meyer and Samantha Turner were each voted to the 2014 Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team, with Clark earning Scholar Athlete honors.

Courtney Walker will get things started on Thursday with the first round of her event, the 400 meters scheduled for 7:45 pm.

Head Women's Track & Field Coach Ron Grigg was named the Women's Coach of the Year while Shanique Walker Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Samantha Turner earned Most Outstanding Freshman Athlete.
